- Own construction performance metrics: identify variances, recommend solutions, and implement corrective actions.
- Plan and manage deliverable schedules to complete projects on time and within budget; act as the main point of contact.
- Allocate resources effectively and monitor trade/crew performance to keep work progressing to plan.
- Ensure company quality standards are consistently met across the full construction process.
- Champion health & safety compliance, enforce standards/procedures, and promote individual accountability.
- Train and develop employees on new techniques, safety, policies, and procedures; coach and mentor the team.
- Manage hiring and people leadership per company policy (interview, hire, assign work, evaluate performance, recommend compensation, and administer discipline).
- Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve construction issues quickly and maintain high internal/external customer service through timely communication.
- Drive continuous improvement of construction processes and procedures.
- Manage construction department tools, supplies, and assigned company property; complete other duties as required.
What you'll need to succeed:
- 5+ years of experience in residential or light commercial construction.

- Proven track record of delivering projects on-time and within budget.
- Comfortable working in an environment where tech meets trades.
- Familiarity with Alberta Building Code and local permitting processes.
- Completion or working towards Master Home Builder accreditation through the Professional Home Builders’ Institute would be an asset.
- Understanding fundamentals of contracts and experience in managing contractors under the terms of a contract.
- Able to effectively communicate with all types of staff, including laborers, technical, professional and upper management.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word)
