Synthetic Data Curator & PM
P-1 Ai
About P-1 AI
We are building an engineering AGI. We founded P-1 AI with the conviction that the greatest impact of artificial intelligence will be on the built world—helping mankind conquer nature and bend it to our will. Our first product is Archie, an AI engineer capable of quantitative and spatial reasoning over physical product domains that performs at the level of an entry-level design engineer. We aim to put an Archie on every engineering team at every industrial company on earth.
Our founding team includes the top minds in model-based engineering, deep learning, and industries that are our customers. We just closed a $23 million seed round led by Radical Ventures that includes a number of other AI and industrial luminaries. We invite you to join our team of the world’s best engineers and AI researchers, building AI’s most impactful use case.
About the Role
In this role, you’ll be at the heart of where AI meets physical product design. Working within a small, tightly-knit team of high-performers, you’ll be principally responsible for the scale-up of our digital engineering model asset library (aka synthetic training data set) to train AI models to address the use cases of current and future industrial partners. At both training-time and inference-time, our AI agent draws on a large-scale, curated library of engineering assets – high-quality descriptions of parts and assemblies, geometry, physical behaviors, and more. We build this library through a mix of proprietary sources, public sources, and custom development, applying additional methods for ensuring quality, consistency, and organization throughout.
If you are passionate about pushing the boundaries of AI's understanding of physical systems, love solving complex data curation challenges, and want to build the foundational knowledge bases that will transform industrial design, this role offers you the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and shape the future of AI-driven engineering.
This role is remote and you can be based anywhere in the US or Canada (where you must have existing work authorization). You will be expected to travel to our San Francisco office for co-working sessions approximately one week out of every six. (If you are already located in the SF Bay Area or are interested in relocation, you are of course welcome to work out of our SF office.)
Responsibilities:
Grow our component and design library by several orders of magnitude, encompassing geometry, behavioral, and other data
Execute data-gathering projects based on the details of the products that our customers make
Manage a distributed team of external contractors, establishing clear workflows, metrics, and quality expectations for asset creation and curation
Quality-maxx our library so that our AI makes elite, unimpeachable design decisions
Keep a critical eye on our library, identifying gaps and opportunities to improve coverage and quality
Specify and guide the development of library management and data-gathering software by working with software engineers
Skills:
Proven ability to build and manage high-quality model asset libraries
Proficiency in digital asset management architectures, metadata standards, ontology design, and data quality frameworks
Proficiency in project management tools and workflow design
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment
Interview Process:
