The Behaviors team at Waabi develops cutting-edge simulation agents and scenario generation algorithms for Waabi World, our simulation platform. As a Senior/Staff Research Engineer on our Behaviors team, you will create the next generation of simulation software for autonomous driving. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team of research scientists and software engineers to build innovative, practical, and scalable solutions to challenging problems as part of our next-generation self-driving solution.
You will...
- Architect robust and scalable training and evaluation frameworks for IL/RL-based traffic agents.
- Design and implement scalable data pipelines for generating large-scale training datasets.
- Productionize cutting-edge research into robust, scalable systems in Waabi World, our simulation platform.
- Contribute to technical direction and strategy for realistic traffic agents and scenario generation.
Qualifications:
- Experience with imitation learning, reinforcement learning, planning, and/or robotics.
- Expertise with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Jax.
- Proven ability to take research from prototype to production systems.
- Excellent software engineering skills with experience building scalable ML systems.
- Open-minded and collaborative team player with willingness to help others.
Bonus/nice to have:
- Masters/PhD in machine learning, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Publications in top-tier conferences or journals related to machine learning or robotics.
- Experience in self-driving, traffic simulation, or a related field.
- Expertise coding in Rust/C++.
The US yearly salary range for this role is: $158,000 - $269,000 USD in addition to competitive perks & benefits. Waabi (US) Inc.’s yearly salary ranges are determined based on several factors in accordance with the Company’s compensation practices. The salary base range is reflective of the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Note: The Company provides additional compensation for employees in this role, including equity incentive awards and an annual performance bonus.
