Who We Are
At TwelveLabs, we are pioneering the development of cutting-edge multimodal foundation models that have the ability to comprehend videos just like humans do. Our models have redefined the standards in video-language modeling, empowering us with more intuitive and far-reaching capabilities, and fundamentally transforming the way we interact with and analyze various forms of media.
With a remarkable $107 million in Seed and Series A funding, our company is backed by top-tier venture capital firms such as NVIDIA’s NVentures, NEA, Radical Ventures, and Index Ventures, and prominent AI visionaries and founders such as Fei-Fei Li, Silvio Savarese, Alexandr Wang, and more. Headquartered in San Francisco, with an influential APAC presence in Seoul, our global footprint underscores our commitment to driving worldwide innovation.
We are a global company that values the uniqueness of each person’s journey. It is the differences in our cultural, educational, and life experiences that allow us to constantly challenge the status quo. We are looking for individuals who are motivated by our mission and eager to make an impact as we push the bounds of technology to transform the world. Join us as we revolutionize video understanding and multimodal AI.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Staff Infrastructure Engineer to join our Government pod. You will design, build and operate a secure and scalable foundation for our multimodal models and indexing platform end-to-end in GovCloud or fully air-gapped environments. You will automate with Terraform, establish CI/CD & software-supply-chain controls, and deliver robust observability and incident response.
As part of our Government pod, you'll help deliver state of the art TwelveLabs’ models and products for U.S. public-sector customers. You will ensure that our platform works in highly regulated GovCloud or air-gapped environments. The work blends deep engineering with security and compliance designing to the FedRAMP and DoD SRG Impact Levels. You’ll build for constrained networks & hardware, rigorous supply-chain practices, and high-reliability operations. This role is only eligible for US citizens; prior top-secret clearance is a plus though not required.
In this role, you will
Design, build, and operate the inference, indexing and search infrastructure for our multi-modal foundation models and platform in GovCloud and on-premise or air-gapped environments for public sector customers.
Automate and scale deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform and Ansible; produce repeatable, hardened environments.
Optimize for security, compliance, and efficiency with advanced monitoring and security frameworks.
Stand up observability (metrics, logs, traces) with clear Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and actionable alerting; own incident response playbooks and post-incident reviews.
Build air-gapped delivery pipelines—Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), patching, and update workflows—with signed artifacts and Software Bills of Materials (SBOMs) for software-supply-chain integrity.
You may be a good fit if you have:
10+ years of experience as an infrastructure engineer.
Experience building and operating infrastructure in cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, and Azure.
Hands-on experience building infrastructure for GovCloud or air-gapped environments.
Hands-on experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
Experience operating container-based workloads with Kubernetes.
Scripting and automation experience with languages such as Python, Go, or TypeScript.
Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines.
Experience designing infrastructure architectures aligned with security and compliance standards, including audit support.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active Government Security Clearance
Experience building advanced monitoring and logging systems.
Proven ability to operate infrastructure optimized for both performance and cost efficiency.
Even if there are a few checkboxes that aren’t ticked through your prior experience, we still encourage you to apply! If you are a 0-1 achiever, a ferocious learner, and a kind and fun team player who motivates others, you will find a home at TwelveLabs.
