Signal 1 is a digital healthcare start-up on a mission to transform hospital care with AI. We are looking for a Software Engineer to help us build, deploy, and scale our healthcare AI solutions across hospitals in North America.

In this role, you will:

• Design and develop core components of our AI Management System in collaboration with our infrastructure, front-end, and machine learning teams.
• Build robust and scalable backend systems to support the deployment of AI solutions in hospital environments.
• Take ownership of rolling out our AI solutions to client hospitals, ensuring smooth integration and reliable performance.
• Contribute to improving engineering practices, deployment automation, and system reliability.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical deployment of Signal 1’s AI solutions at hospitals across North America.
• Build and maintain deployment automation, monitoring, and configuration tools to streamline rollouts and ensure system reliability.
• Manage service delivery across both Signal 1’s cloud infrastructure and client-hosted environments.
• Develop and enhance features for the AI Management System to improve usability, scalability, and performance.
• Implement complex data solutions, including validation, transformation, and verification of large and diverse healthcare datasets.
• Collaborate with the machine learning team to design and build systems that support ML workflows and follow engineering best practices.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems to ensure high availability, security, and reliability for hospital clients.

Qualifications:

• BS or MS in computer science, engineering or a similar discipline
• Solid backend development skills and programming experience (Python, Java, or similar)
• Experience working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server)
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with non-technical stakeholders
• Excellent problem-solving skills and comfort working independently in fast-paced environments

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Extensive experience in EMR integration and healthcare systems development
• Solid knowledge of healthcare data format and interoperability protocols
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
