Your Impact
As a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) Subject Matter Expert, you’ll serve as both a trusted technical advisor to our customers and a sales enablement catalyst within our go-to-market team. 
In this pivotal role, you’ll:
- Guide public safety agencies through the discovery and evaluation of our solutions, helping them visualize how AI-driven communications can transform their 911 operations.
- Partner directly with Account Executives (AEs) to accelerate onboarding and ramp, ensuring new sellers gain a deep understanding of the public safety ecosystem, workflows, and buyer dynamics.
- Play a key role in enabling AEs to confidently position Prepared by Axon solutions—helping them attain and exceed quota faster through structured learning, technical mentorship, and deal collaboration.
This is an opportunity to combine deep PSAP domain knowledge with strategic sales leadership, empowering both our customers and our sales teams to achieve their highest potential.
 
What You’ll Do  
 Sales Partnership & Technical Leadership
- Partner directly with Account Executives to conduct discovery, identify operational pain points, and design tailored solution recommendations for PSAPs.
- Lead impactful demos and presentations that communicate both the technical sophistication and life-saving impact of our technology.
- Translate PSAP workflows into “as-is” and “to-be” narratives that showcase measurable improvements in call handling, data flow, and situational awareness.
Sales Enablement & Onboarding
- Serve as the PSAP knowledge leader for new AEs, building enablement programs and hands-on training to accelerate their understanding of the public safety market.
- Deliver onboarding materials, playbooks, and real-world scenario training that help AEs ramp quickly and engage confidently with public safety leaders.
- Partner with Sales Leadership and Enablement teams to track progress and ensure new hires achieve early success and quota attainment.
- Reinforce consistent messaging, technical accuracy, and consultative selling practices across the team.
- Be the go-to internal expert on PSAP operations, NG911, CAD, radio, and dispatch systems.
- Stay ahead of public safety technology trends and use these insights to inform both customer conversations and product strategy.
Thought Leadership & Advocacy
- Represent Prepared by Axon at industry events, conferences, and customer engagements as a public safety thought leader.
- Champion the voice of dispatchers, call-takers, and communication center leaders within the organization—ensuring our technology reflects the realities of their work.
What You Bring
- 4+ years of experience working directly in, or selling to, Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) or emergency communications environments.
- Deep understanding of 911 workflows, CAD, NG911, and telephony systems.
- 2+ years of experience in sales engineering, Solutions Consulting, or technical pre-sales—ideally within SaaS or GovTech.
- Strong presentation, storytelling, and consultative selling skills.
- Proven ability to coach and enable sellers, particularly new hires, to ramp quickly and close with confidence.
- Collaborative, adaptable, and mission-driven—able to navigate a high-growth, high-impact environment with agility.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Additional Requirements
- Previous hands-on PSAP or emergency communications experience (dispatcher, supervisor, or comms center manager).
- Familiarity with Axon, Prepared, or other leading public safety platforms.
- Experience designing onboarding or sales enablement programs.
Work Location
This role is fully remote within the United States, with up to 25% travel for customer meetings, training sessions, and industry events.

Pay Transparency
Axon offers a comprehensive total compensation package, which includes base salary, a generous annual bonus, and company equity.
The starting base pay for this role ranges up to $188,000.00 annually, depending on your geographic market. The actual base salary will vary based on several factors, including level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and location—often a combination of these elements.
