Employment Type:Full Time Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Psychology, HCI, Cognitive Science, or a related field.
Work Experience: 0–2 years of experience in user research or design research, preferably in tech, product, or SaaS-based companies.
Role Description:
As a UI/UX Research Associate at Pixxel, you will play a critical role in understanding user behavior, needs, and motivations through observation techniques, task analysis, and other feedback methodologies. You’ll work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to influence the development of intuitive, human-centered interfaces across our platforms.
Responsibilities & Duties:
You will be joining the Product Management team as a Product UI/UX Research Associate for Aurora to help the product team members during the product discovery process through the following:
Research about the buyer personas, user personas and identification of problems across value chains in different industries like agriculture, agroforestry, forestry, mining, oil and gas, environment/climate tech etc.
Perform competitive research for different platform capabilities
Create user journeys and user flow diagrams
Rapid Prototyping - to iterate on a daily basis based on feedbacks from users and stakeholders
Design and deliver information architecture, wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mockups optimized for a wide range of devices, interfaces, and platforms.
Create multiple alternatives of ux prototypes for collecting user feedback on the same before arriving at a final solution to be shared ahead with teams for finalizing designs and for finalizing the product requirement document in alignment with the ux prototype
Plan and conduct user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, and summarize the usability and accessibility concerns
Test the platform and share feedbacks for improvements in user experience
Create wireframes, mockups, ux designs and interactive (clickable) ux prototypes using industry-standard tools such as Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, Axure, InVision, UXPin, Balsamiq, Framer etc.
Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback and make data-driven design decisions.
Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.
Facilitate product vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping and user-testing experiences.
Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions.
Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features.
Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs.
Stay up to date with the latest UI/UX trends, techniques, and best practices.
Desirable Skills & Certifications:
Any past internships/experience in ux prototyping in B2B SaaS industry or past GIS experience
Fresh out of college to maximum around 2 years of experience
Location: Indiranagar, Bangalore [Work from Office]
Learning and growth mindset
Focus on deep understanding of problem and then defining problem first instead of jumping to solution directly
Expertise in standard UX software such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD), Axure, InVision, UXPin, Balsamiq, Framer, or other wireframing/prototyping tools is a must.
Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills are a plus.
Should be comfortable with multiple iterations before we arrive at a final design
Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.
Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
Good communication skills to effectively present and articulate design concepts and ideas.
A portfolio or samples of previous design work demonstrating a strong grasp of UI/UX principles is highly desirable.
Hands-on approach with customers, technology, and design, whether it's about getting on call with customers, creating prototypes, etc.
Comfortable doing research to understand, structure and analyze ambiguous problems
