Orbital uses AI to build data center hardware that outperforms the competition. Our AI simulates materials at the atomic level, tests millions of hardware configurations in the time traditional methods test hundreds and finds optimal designs - not just good ones. The result is shipped hardware with specs incumbents can't match.
Every deployment generates field data that improves our AI models. Better models produce better hardware. Better hardware enables more capable AI. The loop is already closed and tightening with each build cycle. We are not just beneficiaries of AI progress, we are a lever on its rate.
Data Centers are where we start, because the market is urgent and the specs are demanding. But the AI-accelerated development process we've built - materials discovery, hardware design, manufacturing optimization - applies to any complex physical system. Data Centers are the proof point, not the ceiling.
We have sites in London, Canada and the USA, building teams across ML research, Product development, Mechanical engineering, and Chemical engineering. If you want to work where AI meets atoms, we'd like to hear from you.
We are looking for a Content Manager who knows how to turn complex ideas into commercially effective writing and campaigns. You'll own Orbital's content strategy from the ground up: defining the editorial vision, creating high-impact content across formats, and ensuring everything ties back to pipeline and growth. You'll work closely with GTM, Sales, Product, and Science teams to produce content that resonates with technical audiences, and you'll use data to continuously sharpen what's working.
Deep expertise in materials science isn't a prerequisite; intellectual curiosity and the ability to get up to speed quickly on complex topics is. If you're energised by the challenge of making hard things clear, and by the opportunity to build something that genuinely matters, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
Content Strategy & Commercial Impact
Own and drive Orbital's content strategy with a clear line of sight to commercial outcomes - pipeline, lead conversion, and revenue acceleration - balancing long-term brand building with short-term GTM needs.
Act as a strategic partner to Sales, identifying gaps in the buyer's journey and building the assets that move prospects forward, from awareness content to technical deal-closers.
Use data and performance insights to measure effectiveness, iterate quickly, and make the case for where to invest next.
Editorial Ownership & Delivery
Own Orbital's editorial voice, tone, and standards - establishing the processes (briefing, drafting, review, publication) and acting as an editorial partner who enables subject matter experts to contribute without sacrificing quality.
Produce thought leadership connecting Orbital's materials innovation to pressing challenges in data centres, energy efficiency, cooling, and sustainability.
Lead production of high-impact content across formats: presentations, product specs, technical blog posts, and scientific explainers - using AI tools to work efficiently without sacrificing rigour.
Work cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Science, and Leadership to originate ideas and ensure content is accurate, relevant, and aligned to business priorities.
Track developments across AI and data centre infrastructure to keep content timely and credible.
Community & Distribution
Build Orbital's presence across key communities - data centre, infrastructure, AI research, chemistry, and engineering.
Develop content that strengthens positioning with technically fluent decision-makers globally.
Pioneer new ways to activate content and grow Orbital's reach.
What We’re Looking For
Proven ability to independently devise and execute a content strategy that drives a GTM function. You understand how to use content as a lever for revenue.
Experience working closely with Sales and GTM to identify content gaps in the buyer's journey and address them with high-impact assets.
Outstanding writing and editing skills, with strong long-form examples; proficient in using LLMs and tools to execute efficiently and at scale.
Experience in or an affinity for deep tech, compute, energy, cooling, or industrial technology sectors.
Strong editorial judgment, intellectual curiosity and attention to detail.
A builder mindset with a genuine passion to create a foundational content function from scratch.
Data-driven: you use analytics and performance data to inform decisions, optimise content, and report on impact clearly.
Startup or early-stage company experience is a plus - we move fast, priorities shift, and we're looking for someone who finds that exciting rather than uncomfortable.
