About the role
Muon seeks a senior buyer to join our supply chain team. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who has strong communication skills, excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, ability to work independently and professionally under pressure, and ability to maintain accurate records and controls.
Location: This position will be located on-site at our headquarters in Mountain View, CA
Responsibilities
- Procurement: Managing the procurement of goods, services, and materials for Muon Space
- Cost optimization: Ensuring that costs, cash, quality, and service are optimized
- Research: Analyzing, researching, and forecasting trends, markets, styles, and products
- Supplier relationships: Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers
- Contract negotiation: Negotiating contracts with suppliers
- Financial risk: Assessing the financial risks of strategic purchases
- Inventory: Overseeing and maintaining inventory at strategic levels
- Compliance: Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, codes, and regulations
- Vendor selection: Directing the selection of qualified and interested vendors
- Customer service: Providing customer service for internal and external customers
Qualifications
- Resilient, self motivated and able to work well under pressure
- Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements
- Mechanical commodity purchasing experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Contract management and supplier management experience
- Project management experience
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of supply chain management

Salary
The salary range for this role is [$115k - $135k] and will depend on a candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience as defined during the interview process.
