About This Role
The Director, Commercial Operations will be the operational backbone of Crusoe's Energy Development Group. This person owns the analytical frameworks, pipeline processes, and team capabilities that allow Crusoe to evaluate and advance land and power opportunities at speed and at scale. From complex financial modeling and market analysis to pipeline integrity and board-level reporting, this role ensures the BD team operates with precision and strategic clarity.
This is a leadership-first, analytically grounded role. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in energy project finance or development, a track record of building and mentoring high-performing analyst teams, and the process orientation to continuously raise the quality bar on how Crusoe evaluates and advances opportunities. You will work closely with senior leadership across Energy Development, Real Estate, Finance, Cloud, Energy Innovation, Design / Engineering, Pre-Construction, and Construction teams and will be a key contributor to the operational health of Crusoe's project pipeline.

Compensation will be paid in the range of up to $180,000 -$220,000 + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicants knowledge, education, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

What You'll Be Working On
- Overseeing a team of Energy Development Analysts, setting the standard for analytical rigor, process discipline, and professional growth
- Owning the development and refinement of economic models that underpin power origination and data center site pricing decisions
- Driving continuous improvement of due diligence workflows, pipeline management processes, and reporting mechanisms across the Energy Development team
- Overseeing the integrity and accuracy of Crusoe's data center opportunity pipeline, ensuring leadership has a reliable, real-time view of the project portfolio
- Supervising the creation of board-level presentations, project approval materials, and executive communications that translate analytical complexity into clear strategic recommendations
- Tracking and synthesizing hyperscaler activity, regulatory developments, and domestic energy infrastructure trends to surface actionable intelligence for the team
- Supporting cross-functional collaboration between Energy Development and the Real Estate, Finance, Cloud, Energy Innovation, Design / Engineering, Pre-Construction, and Construction teams to move projects efficiently through the development pipeline
Lead and enable the Energy Development Analyst team
- Support, mentor, and develop a team of analysts, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture
- Provide hands-on guidance on financial modeling, market analysis, and project evaluation
- Oversee the development of detailed economic models for new large-scale land and power opportunities and data center site power pricing
- Ensure analyses of energy development potential and economics are accurate, rigorous, and decision-ready
- Guide the team in leveraging internal data analytics tools and external market intelligence to identify and vet opportunities
- Drive continuous improvement of business operations processes within the Energy Development team, including project management, due diligence workflows, and reporting mechanisms
- Maintain the integrity of Crusoe's data center opportunity pipeline, ensuring data accuracy and timely updates
- Develop and implement best practices for tracking key pipeline metrics and project statuses
- Supervise the creation and delivery of board-level presentations, project approval materials, and ad hoc reports for senior management
- Ensure all communications clearly articulate analytical findings, strategic implications, and support for business decisions
- Facilitate effective communication between the Energy Development team and the Real Estate, Finance, Cloud, Energy Innovation, Design / Engineering, Pre-Construction, and Construction teams
- Support the team in communications with external stakeholders including developers, IPPs, and potential partners
- Oversee tracking and analysis of hyperscaler and co-located data center activity, regulatory changes in the energy sector, and domestic energy infrastructure investments
- Ensure the team synthesizes this information to identify potential impacts and opportunities for Crusoe
Required
- 7+ years of progressive experience in consulting, project finance, investment banking, private equity, energy development, or business operations, with significant focus on the energy sector (renewables, conventional power, or oil & gas)
- 3+ years of experience in a managerial or team leadership role, with a demonstrated ability to mentor and develop direct reports
- Deep understanding of energy markets, project economics, and financial modeling
- Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Suite; experience with pipeline management systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to distill complex analytical and commercial content into clear, executive-ready recommendations
- Demonstrated ability to build and improve operational processes in a fast-moving, high-ambiguity environment
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
